How hormone replacement therapy may stop accelerated aging

Speak to an anti-aging doctor about how estrogen pellet implants can help you age gracefully.

At Longevity Centres of America, we've witnessed the benefits of hormone pellet implants time and time again for patients who are looking to regain their youthful vitality and combat many frustrating aspects of aging. For postmenopausal women, this anti-aging treatment has been shown to help manage the symptoms of this hormonal imbalance and leave them feeling rejuvenated. And, according a recent study from Stanford University, a certain segment of this population may stand to benefit even more from pellet implants.

A press release from the university states that women with a genetic biomarker called ApoE4, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease, typically experience "accelerated biological aging" – meaning their physical and mental abilities decline at a greater rate.

"We know from numerous studies that ApoE4 is a major genetic risk factor for cognitive decline, Alzheimer's disease and early mortality,"  said Emily Jacobs of Harvard Medical School, who contributed to the study.

"Estrogen appears to have a protective effect for middle-aged women who are carrying this genetic risk factor," Dr. Natalie Rasgon, Ph.D, a co-author of the study and professor of psychiatry, added in the press release.

The researchers reportedly discovered that estrogen replacement therapy had a beneficial effect on telomere length for recipients with ApoE4. Telemores are essentially the ends of linear chromosomes, and their length has been shown to be an indicator of aging longevity.

Whether or not you carry this genetic marker, if you have gone through menopause and feel that the transformation has impaired your quality of life in general, estrogen pellet implants may be able to help. The anti-aging doctors at Longevity Centres of America have practiced this treatment for years, and can answer any questions you may have about hormone replacement therapy and how it can help you age gracefully.
